Ritviks and ISKCON: The Line is Beginning to Blur

November 14th, 2012

BY: SUN STAFF

Nov 12, 2012 — CANADA (SUN) — Over the years, the Ritvik-vada adherents have always made an effort to boldly differentiate themselves from the GBC-run ISKCON. Pointing to the many ways in which ISKCON is compromising Srila Prabhupada’s standards, they have tirelessly preached the notion that bogus guru-tattva philosophy is at the bottom of all the problems, and if ISKCON would just get on board with their Ritvik-vada, everything would come right.

But in fact, as the poisonous influence coming from ISKCON Bangalore spreads, forming little pockets of asiddhantic Ritvikism around the world, we can now see that just the opposite is true: the problems in ISKCON are not being solved by the Ritviks, but rather are being replicated.

Climbing onto the Ritvik platform was apparently seen by Madhu Pandit das and the Bangalore leaders as a move of political expediency, and it did serve to temporarily get them out from under the fist of ISKCON leaders. (Except, of course, for the very costly lawsuit they’ve been saddled with.) But there are other drivers behind the Bangalore Ritvik phenomenon besides just guru-tattva, and two of these are Hindu Culture and Money. These two popular catalysts have been well known in the devotee community for many years.

Nowhere is the proliferation of Hinduism in ISKCON more regularly criticized than here in the Sun. Fortunately, many devotees are moved to write about the manifestation of this blight on Srila Prabhupada’s movement, and thousands of readers appreciate hearing what these writers have to say. And what they say is something we all know very well… money is the honey, and in ISKCON, the Indian community is where the honey comes from.

The truth is just a simple test away….

September 11th, 2012

[This is a letter/appeal we have received from a ex member of the Hare Krsna Hill, presently preaching independently in Karnataka. Name withheld on request. This devotee spent over 12 years on the Hill before the search for the truth took him off of the Hill. A very sincere appeal and an interesting new challenge the letter presents to the Bandit parivaar. We have made slight edits for readability.  Editors comments between "[ ]” ]

Dear Devotees of Hare Krsna Movement

Hare Krishna.
You were all attracted to the movement by Srila Prabhupada and his books. You have given up careers and families to serve him and his cause. You all deserve to be worshiped for your devotion and missionary spirit. Srila Prabhupada would have been so proud of you. But for some reason you are now not in his movement called ISKCON. You belong to another movement called “Hare Krishna Movement” An organization that took Prabhupada’s ISKCON to court and publicly derided ISKCON. Read the rest of this entry »

HH Jayapataka Swami’s letter to Bangalore devotees

September 7th, 2012

Dear Devotees of Hare Krsna Movement ,

We managed to get this letter (written on or about August 25, 2012) that His Holiness Jayapataka Swami had written to you all. It was given to Madhu Pandit Dasa. We hear that none of you were shown this letter. So here it is:
_______________________________

My dear Madhu Pandit Das and group members,

Please accept my best wishes. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

I know that if we discuss philosophy then you may have lots of things to say and I may also have many different things to say. In this letter, I am just trying to go beyond these philosophical disagreements to seek a way in which we could work to integrate you back to ISKCON. So please just consider this proposal calmly although your first knee jerk reaction maybe that my presentation in this letter is not what you want. Please deliberate and consider what would be more pleasing to Srila Prabhupada. Read the rest of this entry »

By Bangalore Correspondent

First the news; the following email from the Legal Office showed up in my inbox today telling of yet another in a long string of setbacks for Madhu Pandit:

____________

Dear Maharajas and Prabhus

Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

Today the Division Bench of the High Court of Karnataka passed an order dismissing applications filed by Madhu Pandit Dasa (MPD), Bhakti Lata devi dasi (MPD’s wife), Chameri devi dasi (MPD’s wife’s sister) and Chanchala Pati Dasa (MPD’s brother-in-law) praying that the High Court expunge remarks made against them about fraud, fabrication of documents, manipulation of accounts, Read the rest of this entry »

Defeat of Ritvik-vada: Hitting the Middle of the Target

August 28th, 2012

BY: BHAKTA JAREK

Aug 27, 2012 — BYDGOSZCZ, POLAND (SUN) — My name is Bhakta Jarek from Poland. We do not have Ritviks here (at least active ones), however I was myself inflicted with this idea, and all the writings of Rocana Prabhu helped me very much to defeat this weakness of my mind. The book entitled Defeat of Ritvik-vada by H.G. Rocana das Prabhu is so important at a time when a chain of historical events and deviations is impacting the worldwide post-1977 Krishna Consciousness Movement. Some deviations are strongly schismatic in nature and form, such as the Ritvik-vada dogma, which has seriously split the remnants of the once strong and fully transcendental divine ashram of the Vaishnava Sampradaya Acharya and ISKCON Founder, His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada and His faithful followers, sons and daughters. Read the rest of this entry »

Madhu Pandit hires lawyer in vain attempt to shut down MadhuBandit.info

August 21st, 2012

Today we received the following two emails from the third party agent “ABC” who handles this website for us. The first email is from “XYZ” representing the owners of the ISP who informed “ABC” that he has received a threatening “lawyer letter” from Madhu Pandit’s lawyer but that “XYZ” will not shut down the site without a court order which will be almost impossible to get since

1 We are telling the truth with plenty of documentation

2 Switzerland is not India and

3 the Swiss are famous for maintaining confidentiality.

The second is the “lawyer letter” from a Mr. Ramaswami Natarajan which as is typical in such cases is making all kinds of threats that will be impossible to fulfill. Just consider that major multinational corporations and several governments (USA, Sweden) have tried unsuccessfully to shut down The Pirates Bay  and of course several world governments especially the USA are trying to shut down Wikileaks but all to no avail. Madhu Pandit’s impotent rage

August 17th, 2012

The word circulating in the rumor mills of the Rtvik sewer system is that Madhu Pandit is bragging to one and all that he is going to shut down this site as well as www.ISKCON-BDA.org. Details are not clear yet. Unbelievably it seems that he plans to do this by suing the Sampradaya Sun. We say unbelievably because we have no connection with Sampradaya Sun, which is located on the other side of the world.

We don’t know how the Bandit thinks suing the Sampradaya Sun will have any effect what so ever on this site or www.ISKCON-BDA.org. Even if he is successful in shutting down the Sampradaya Sun which seems very doubtful (if this rumor is even true) then it will have zero impact on us. Read the rest of this entry »

Defeat of Ritvik-vada: Weeding Out Unwanted Concoctions

August 14th, 2012

BY: RAVANARI DAS

Aug 02, 2012 — USA (SUN) — When entering ritvik into the search engine at www.prabhupadabooks.com, only one result surfaces, and that is the famous appointment letter of July 9th, 1977. Enter it spelled rtvik and a few dozen technical Bhagavatam references appear, mostly which define the word as “a priest”. One may assume that with only a comparatively few hits, the ritvik (or rtvik or rittik) debate constitutes much ado about nothing. But it is plainly more than a tempest in a teapot, because thousands of disciples have left the shelter of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness over this very issue. Not only that, but major court battles are now being waged by warring camps over temple properties worth vast fortunes. In many ways the integrity of a bona fide movement that teaches the pure essence of religion for the salvation of the world is at stake over the issue of ritvikism. Read the rest of this entry »

Another setback for Madhu Pandit: Minister shuts down his project in Hyderabad

August 11th, 2012

Aug 10, 2012

Danam, cronies charge at cops on “Iskcon” land issue.

Labour minister Danam Nagender and his supporters were booked for breaching peace and assaulting police personnel on Thursday after they locked the gate of an Iskcon temple at Banjara Hills Road No. 12.

According to sources, Mr Nagender had gone to the temple on Thursday morning as locals had complained that members of the Hare Krishna Movement were trying to occupy their lands under the guise of temple construction. As the temple management refused to heed the minister’s warnings, he locked the gate with the devotees and priests inside. When the police tried to settle the issue, the minister allegedly threatened them and asked them to leave the premises. Read the rest of this entry »

Compromise dead: The Bandit demands everything gives nothing

August 7th, 2012

[Below is a letter we received from a leader in ISKCON India tactfully expressing his concerns to Dayaram Prabhu who heads up the ISKCON legal team about the heavily lop-sided way that the compromise with Madhu Pandit is going. More editorial comments at the end]

Dandavats Pranams Dayaram Prabhuji
all glories to Srila Prabhuphada

Some of us went through their proposals. In our humble opinion we think a compromise is good. But we must be careful.

Bangalore devotees all have done good works & set up many temples & trusts. They have formed a Ritvik ideology and are very adamant about the “Officiating Acharya philosophy.” Many in the Bureau respect that choice and have no objection to pass a resolution to accommodate them back into ISKCON so as to end this very public fight. They are also willing to compromise now and that is a good sign. We must end this if we can.

Defeat of Ritvik-vada: Introduction

August 6th, 2012

BY: ROCANA DASA

Jul 31, 2012 — CANADA (SUN) —

nama om visnu padaya krsna presthaya bhutale
srimate bhaktivedanta swamin iti namine
namaste sarasvate deve gauravani pracarine
nirvisesa sunyavadi pascatya desa tarine

I offer my respectful obeisances unto
His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada,
who is very dear to Lord Krsna,
having taken shelter at His lotus feet.

Our respectful obeisances are unto you, O spiritual master,
servant of Sarasvati Gosvami. You are kindly preaching the message
of Lord Caitanyadeva and delivering the Western countries,
which are filled with impersonalism and voidism.

I would like to begin by advising the reader that this paper, Defeat of Ritvik-vada, is not ‘light reading’ and therefore requires a dedicated and focused approach. We believe, however, that the content is of great importance to the individual, and to the community of devotees concerned with the propagation of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu’s Sankirtan Movement. Defeat of Ritvik-vada

August 6th, 2012

Jul 31, 2012 — CANADA (SUN) — A detailed analysis and rebuttal of the Ritvik-vada manifesto, ‘The Final Order’

Today, in honor of Lord Balarama’s Appearance, we are pleased to launch a project that has been very long in coming. Defeat of Ritvik-vada is a detailed analysis and commentary on The Final Order by Krishnakant. TFO is the primary source of doctrine for adherents to the asiddhantic Ritvik philosophy. It has been analyzed by many sincere and intelligent followers of Srila Prabhupada over the years. We trust that our effort, Defeat of Ritvik-vada, will bring the debate on ISKCON guru-tattva to a finer point, and will introduce a number of rebuttal arguments that have not previously been considered.

Defeat of Ritvik-vada (DOR) is comprised of numerous documents and materials, including a full-length version of the paper and an abridged version; a detailed analysis of the May 28th Conversation; and an index of errors found in The Final Order. Altogether, there are eight Appendix documents (one of which, an FAQ, will be completed shortly) and thirty-six Reference documents, all footnoted throughout DOR and indexed at the end of each paper.

A Pub named Dwarakapuri

August 4th, 2012

by Krsna Dasa

A few days ago I attended a marriage in ISKCON Hare Krishna hill in Bangalore. This was the marriage of a close friend of mine. I have been practicing Krishna consciousness and regulative principles since more than 4 years. I thought that I would not face much problems attending this marriage as the environment would be devotional and I would be served prasadam also. Even though I was well aware of the Ritvik apasampradaya and how great offenders these people are, still I had faith that at least they would preserve the basic regulative principles. With this faith I attended the marriage. The first thing I saw right in the center in the hall was a deity of Ganesha. Read the rest of this entry »

The Bandit parivar – who or what are they? – The Final Order

July 14th, 2012

By Jagannatha Dasa

It is quite a hilarious sight to see the Bandit trying real hard these days to pass off as a Ritvik. Perfectly timed and planted articles and talk shows where he appears as the crusader in chief waving the Ritvik flag and leading the vanguard.

But who or what is he really? He is a business walla and nothing more – he isn’t a Ritvik not even a Guru Reformer. That is the Final Order. He is not one of us, he sure was able to fool some of us for some time but as the adage goes he can’t fool all devotees for all time. Read the rest of this entry »

The Bandit swallows his own puke!

July 9th, 2012

By: Devaraja dasa

Two months back the Bandit filed an Interim Application (IA) in the Supreme Court seeking to trim down the powers of Supervisory Oversight Committee appointed by the Supreme Court to keep an eye on him. This committee had stopped him from pulling the money out into phony trusts and projects, and to have it all covered up by some pliable chartered accountant. The IA was also filed in the hope that he could rule as before until the case came up for hearing in the Supreme Court in say 5 years or 10 years from now. However, while considering his application on cutting down the powers of the Oversight Committee, the Judges listed the matter for final hearing and disposal on 22 Aug 2012! Hare Krishna Society and the Company They Keep

June 29th, 2012

[This article shows that Madhu Pandit Dasa protects child molesters and peadaphiles among other unsavory characters.]

BY: SUN STAFF

Jun 07, 2012 — CANADA (SUN) — Over the years, a number of articles have appeared in the Sampradaya Sun regarding the activities of the Hare Krishna Society and its members. Better known as the ‘West Coast Rtviks’, this group of ISKCON dissidents led by Yasoda Nandana dasa has become the face of Ritvik-ism in North America.

The group was founded in California around 2002, when they launched their www.KrishnaConsciousnessMovement.com website. In late 2003, we ran a series of articles in HareKrsna.com about our challenge to debate Ritvik-vada with Yasoda Nandana dasa, his agreement to debate, and his subsequent reneging on that agreement. The correspondence we exchanged with HKS on the subject is archived here.

Along with Yasoda Nandana das, the founding members of HKS include Puranjana das, Damaghosa dasa, Narasimha das and Sri Mukunda dasa. The current roster of HKS members can be found here. Although HKS downplays Puranjana’s role in the organization (for obvious reasons), he is widely known to be an active participant.

Madhu Pandit’s Hand Waving

August 6th, 2011

When I read Madhu Pandit Dasa’s recent post I was wondering why he waited almost a month to do so and also why he didn’t include a link to my original article Madhu Pandit dasa: Prince of Prevarication and Father of Lies. (I request the gentle reader to read it and refresh their memory.)

Then I understood, he hoped that people would by this time have forgotten the catalog of lies he has perpetrated and which I had documented and thus be willing to swallow his latest offering. Read the rest of this entry »

Jul 14, 2011 — BANGALORE, INDIA (SUN) — On May 23rd, 2011 the High Court of Karnataka concluded that the ISKCON Society registered in Bangalore in 1978 is a defunct entity having no legal existence, and by fabricating documents and falsifying accounts, Madhu Pandit dasa and his family members are falsely claiming the ISKCON temple at Bangalore as the property of the defunct society.
